Klaus Lederer
Born 1974 in Schwerin (Mecklenburg), Klaus Lederer moved to Berlin in the late 1980’s, the time of the “Wende”, when the Berlin Wall came down. Those exciting times with their creative chaos had crucial influence on him: engagement, love for discussions and participation are his core values. Doctorate degree in Law from Humboldt University Berlin (2004). Joined the democratic-socialist party PDS (since 2007 DIE LINKE) in 1992 and was Chairman of the party’s Berlin state associaton 2005-2016. Member of the Abgeordnetenhaus (regional Parliament for Berlin) 2003-2016. Since December 2016 he is Senator for Culture and Europe and Mayor of Berlin.
