Arne Birkenstock

Arne Birkenstock is a German author, director and film producer.
He studied economics, politics, history and Romance studies in Cologne, Buenos Aires and Córdoba. Arne Birkenstock is a producer of feature-length documentary films by Uli Gaulke, Milo Rau, Yasemin and Nesrin Samdereli. He is also a member of the German Film Academy and the European Film Academy, the European Documentary Network (EDN) and the Documentary Film Working Group (agdok). He is involved in the advisory board of KunstSalon e.V. and in the board of trustees of AFS Interkulturelle Begegnungen. In 2014 he was appointed by the State Minister of Culture Monika Grütters for three years on the panel “production program-filling feature and documentary films (A)” of the federal government’s cultural film funding.
